Instrument 2: Girls Inc. Eureka Project Evaluation

Project: Operation SMART Eureka!
Girls Incorporated of Alameda County

Funding Source: NSF: Informal Science Education (ESIE)

Purpose: To gather information on the effects of the Eureka program on student participants

Administered To: High school girls who participated in the Eureka program

Topics Covered:

  • Impact on Outcomes: career interests, confidence, student interest
  • Plans & Expectations (Student): career interests, post-secondary plans
  • Project Evaluation: effectiveness, satisfaction
  • Self-Assessment (Student): confidence, interest
  • Background Characteristics & Activities (Student): academic performance, education, extracurricular involvement, prior coursework

Format/Length: 18 questions, 6 open- and 12 closed-ended. Questions include checklists, Likert scale ratings, and opinion formats. There are also 8 demographic questions.
