Instrument 2: Department of Physics & Astronomy, Undergraduate Teaching Internship Program Survey

Purpose: To gather information that will help in the evaluation of the Undergraduate Teaching Internship Program

Administered To: Students who were in the classes in which the teaching interns (TIs) were participating in the Undergraduate Teaching Internship Program

Topics Covered:

  • Attitudes & Beliefs (Student): family, profession
  • Course Evaluation: importance, instructor, satisfaction
  • Identity Issues: gender roles
  • Plans & Expectations (Student): academic interests, academic performance, career interests, family influences
  • Self-Assessment (Student): collaboartive activities, confidence, drive, interest, skills
  • Background Characteristics & Activities (Student): academic interests, education, family characteristics
  • Demographics (Student): ethnicity, gender, primary language spoken

Format/Length: 39 closed-ended Likert scale questions and 8 demographic questions
