These workshops were highly successful. Participants rated the modeling of hands-on activities and management of materials as being most beneficial. When asked to list activities that were least beneficial, fifteen participants failed to list any activities or indicated that all activities were beneficial.

Students from all five courses provided an overall average rating for their course of 4.75 on a 5- point rating scale (ranging from "poor" to "excellent").

We had anticipated this series of workshops to be our most difficult as these participants had chosen to not participate in any prior NSF workshop activities. We were surprised to find these teachers to be highly receptive and appreciative of the training.

Students from all five courses provided an overall average rating for their course of 4.61 on a 5-point rating scale item (ranging from "poor" to "excellent").

All facilitators participated in a 3 hour block presentation on "Maintaining an Exemplary Science Program" at the Maryland Association of Science Teachers Fall Conference.

High quality presentations were made by facilitators. Attendance was very low due to the scheduling of the presentation at the end of the conference on Saturday morning.

These were highly effective and successful presentations. All sessions on April 4 were filled to capacity. Members of the audience were enthusiastic and participated in the discussion both during and after the presentations.
