Instrument 1: Building for Tomorrow - Telephone Follow-up Survey

Purpose: To gather information about what follow-up activities workshop participants have pursued

Administered To: High school teachers and administrators who attended certain summer workshops that were designed to help them get students to participate in robotics and other STEM competition

Topics Covered:

  • Background Characteristics & Activities (Student): family characteristics
  • Impact on Outcomes: career interests, extracurricular activities, project continuation, teacher interest, teacher knowledge, teacher skills, teacher understanding, technology
  • Implementation Characteristics: admin support, resource/materials access
  • Limitations & Barriers: institutional constraints
  • Perceptions (Teacher/Faculty): impact, mentoring/support, project
  • Plans and Expectations (Teacher/Faculty): continue project involvement, project impact

Format/Length: Contains 28 open-ended items, some of which require specific answers, and some of which solicit comments. Also contains 1 item that solicits a rating, and one item that requires a selection.
