Purpose: To determine the most effective means of improving and expanding science and mathematics education at the nation's two-year colleges

Administered To: Participants in Preparing Tomorrow's Science and Mathematics Teachers: The Community College Response: Conference I

Topics Covered:

  • Attitudes and Beliefs (Teacher/Faculty): teaching profession, professional involvement, project involvement, and project implementation
  • Workshop Evaluation: methods, materials, instructor, support
  • Implementation Characteristics: knowledge base of presenters
  • Mentoring & Support: peers, instructor, influence
  • Perceptions (Teacher/Faculty): methods, content, mentoring/support, impact, practical value
  • Plans & Expectations (Teacher/Faculty): continue project, involvement, continued collaboration, professional development activities, project implementation
  • Project Development/Continuation: expansion, integration, collaboration, recruitment
  • Self Assessment (Teacher/Faculty): preparation, collaborative activities, implementation activities

Format/Length: 36 total number of items: 20 closed-ended (8 scaled items, 7 yes/no items, 5 demographic items) and 16 open-ended (8 items that contain both closed-ended and open-ended components)
