  • Plans & Expectations (Student): academic interests, career interests
  • Project Evaluation: areas for program improvement, collaboration, endorsement, exemplary areas
  • Student/Teacher Interaction: comfort
  • Background Characteristics & Activities (Student): career interests, project involvement

Format/Length: 12 open-ended questions


LACTE Student Interview/Focus Group Questions

  1. How long have you been involved in LACTE?

  2. Had you decided on a career in education before participating in LACTE or has LACTE helped you make that decision?

  3. What grade level are you interested in teaching? What subject?

  4. How have your academic and/or personal goals been affected by LACTE?

  5. Have you met other LACTE students from your two-year (or four-year) college? If so, in what capacity?

  6. How do you feel about the LACTE faculty?

  7. Do you feel you can approach a LACTE teacher as a mentor?

  8. What impression do you have of other students' feelings towards the LACTE program and faculty?

  9. Is LACTE a program you would recommend to another student?

  10. What do you feel are LACTE's weak and strong points?

  11. What changes would you make to improve and encourage student recruitment?

  12. How could LACTE better address your specific needs as you prepare for a career in teaching?
