The trainees' motivation
is likely to be high because they have committed themselves to completing the
project, and their participation is voluntary. Nevertheless, care should be
taken to screen out spurious data that could result from carelessness, and corroborative
questions should be posed so that such data can be identified.
An example of a corroborative question would be to ask how often they use computers,
then also ask how often they use computers for specific tasks, such as for research,
email, or writing. The reported general use should match up with the total use
on the specific tasks. Failure to corroborate would signal that the respondents'
answers were unreliable.
