Qualitative data about the diverse ways in which the various instructors are implementing the Learning by Doing model should be collected at regular intervals, including:

• Observations of instructors and students engaged in the Learning by Doing approach.
  
• Interviews with the instructors before the observation to learn their goals for that day.
  
• Interviews after the observation to gauge whether the instructors perceive that they have met their goals.

The instruments used for observations and interviews should be based on attributes such as time on task, instructional method, resource availability, classroom logistics, and instructor satisfaction.
